Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 18, 2026

At ToneCanvas ("we", "us", or "our"), your privacy is our priority. We designed our application to be "local-first," meaning we minimize data collection and keep your personal creations on your own device. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when you use our website and application (tonecanvas.app).

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We believe in frictionless and private creativity. Therefore:

  • No Accounts: ToneCanvas does not require user registration or logins.
  • No Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for your name, address, or phone number.

2. Local Storage & Data Processing

Local-First Architecture: Your custom presets, recently viewed items, favorites, and background preferences are saved directly to your browser's Local Storage. This data remains on your device and is not continuously uploaded to or monitored by our servers.

Sharing Presets (Cloudflare Workers): When you choose to "Share" a preset or generate a shareable link, the specific preset data (e.g., knob values, pedal names) is temporarily transmitted to our API (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) to generate a unique ID and image preview. This data is strictly used for fulfilling your share request.

3. Analytics & Third-Party Tools

To improve ToneCanvas, we use Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as page views, button clicks, and error occurrences). This helps us understand how the app is used and where it crashes.

Your Consent: Upon your first visit, we provide a "Quick soundcheck" consent modal. If you decline "Anonymous Stats," we respect your choice and disable the tracking scripts. You can adjust your preferences at any time within the app.

4. Affiliate Links & Geolocation

ToneCanvas includes a "Tone-to-Gear" matching feature that may display affiliate links to musical equipment on platforms like Amazon or Shopee. To provide relevant store links, we perform a basic, anonymized IP geolocation lookup to determine your country (e.g., US or TH). We do not store your IP address after this lookup.

5. Children's Privacy

ToneCanvas is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect updates in our features or legal requirements. The updated date will be stated at the top of this page.
